I Wish Labor Day was over - I'm tired!

Well, I'm gonna try this one more time, which will make the 3rd time to try to Post something today. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it just seems to 'go away', and I can't find it anywhere. It's just like things in this house that disappear. My husband lost his hearing aid the other day, right here in the house, and it is yet to be found. Later, he lost his glasses the same way; just totally swallowed up. I told him I think we have a ghost, and he just grabs anything he finds on the floor, and he's gone with it. Had to get a new hearing aid; just cost 2500; just money, no big deal! Yeah right, I've told him that if he loses another one, it just going to be tough for him to do without one, but that's what will have to happen. Money like that doesn't grow on the ground, or on the trees either......................

I never knew what real happiness was til I married, and then it was too late
I can't complain. What can you expect of a day that begins with getting up?

RED FRIDAY

Red Friday --------Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops use to be called the "silent" majority. Well we are no longer silent and are voicing our love for God, country and home, in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV to reflect our message or our opinions. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to be recognized that the vast majority of Americans support our troops.

Wearing something Red on Friday, is our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops. This will continue each and every Friday until all the troops come home. We hope to send a deafening message that every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something Red. Like a homecoming football game in the bleachers every Friday. Let's make the United States a sea of RED!!!!

If everyone who loves this country will share this with their acquaintances. co-workers, friends and family, it will not be long before the United States is covered in RED, and it will let our troops know that the once "silent" majority, is on their side more than ever.......certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked, "What can we do to make things better for you?" He says, "We need your support and prayers.

Let's get the word out, and wear RED every FRIDAY!!!!

The inspiration for this is of course, our troops and to feel we can let them know how much we love, appreciate and thank them for what they do and the sacrifices they make having to be separated from their families for long periods of time. I know this first hand. I have a son who has returned just today, August 26, 2008, from a 1 year tour in Iraq, which is his 2nd time to be over there. Needless to say, we thank you for all the support and the wearing of Red every Friday, and your prayers for each one's safe return.

Last Friday, we were 100% in Red, at the Exercise room!! Most every Friday you will see all Red ---sometimes someone will forget, and they come in apologizing to me and teasing me that I won't let them in if they don't wear Red, ha! I take their pictures of them in their Red attire. I will post pictures as soon as I learn how to do it, ha!

Today has been an especially happy day for me, for my son to be home!!!
Hopefully he will have a year at home before any more foreign assignments. Continue to pray for our troops and don't forget to wear RED every Friday!!

He called yesterday and was in Kuwait. Should be home, at Ft. Sill, tomorrow at 4pm! Yea! Good job, soldier! He, and all the other troops are the inspiration for the RED SHIRTS on Fridays!!!!!

O pashaw!!!

That's a favorite saying my hairdresser and another patron and I have come up with and have a lot of fun with. I have had so much trouble getting back into my own Blog, that now that my daughter has me straightened out on what to do and how to get back to the Blog, maybe I can write some when I have a 'thought', which I might forget before I get signed in, ha!

It has been a long weekend - raining a little each day, which is wonderful - every drop is appreciated - thank you Lord!

I wanted to watch the DNC some, but afraid it would ruin my appetite! I'll hear all about it in the morning when the 'early birds' get to the exercise room! I was curious about the activities outside the convention location. Heard that is where the action and real show would be!

A discussion of arthritis remedies, came up Friday and things got lively. Ebb said he liked that 'horse liniment stuff, ' and it was really good. Bob said Ebb, you aren't suppose to DRINK it!! We had to pick ourselves up off the floor, ha! There was so much stuff going on that day and so much fun. We must keep the TV off more often, so we can all laugh and joke and visit more. I had wished for a recorder that day; so I just went to WalMart and bought one, so now folks, don't clam up on me. I can edit whatever is recorded, so go ahead and say whatever you want to!! I especially like "funnies". If you have a fun story about yourself or something that has happened to you, we can use it, and/or if you know something funny about someone else, we'd love to have that too.

The secret to happiness is a good sense of humor and a bad memory.....

Exposure to the SON may prevent burning!

Today was, as is every Friday, "Red Friday". We all wear red shirts and/or pants, to show our patriotism. It is to honor our troops and the shed blood.
Today, all our exercisers honored our troops by wearing RED. It was 100%, and it was a real show of patriotism. We are so proud of our "early bird" exercisers. It is quite a feat, to get out of bed at 5am, and dress and go out in any kind of weather, in order to keep our bodies in good health, by making it our daily routine to exercise. I wake up anywhere from 3 on, and get up before my alarm goes off, which is a crowing rooster, and it is tooo irritating to hear in the wee hours of the morning , so I try to avoid it!I now know why that commercial says: "killing the rooster", or something like that, ha!

We have exercisers of all ages and all walks of life. We have one in her 20's and another in his 80's. We have 2 lawyers, a Real Estate broker, and his wife, a Fishing Guide, 2 teachers, a Funeral Home worker/ a potter, Pastor/Counselor/Carpenter/Painter/Floor Sander-Refinisher/you name it and he does it. Nobody but this man can do this; he is so faithful in his attendance and works the entire 2 hours we are open. He is so strong and physically fit, that he can work 15 hours a day and get a few hours of sleep and right back to the exercise room again. He is a true example of what exercise can do. He and several others are told by their Doctors to continue doing whatever it is you're doing. We have a Beautician, Nurses, Secretaries, Accountants, Investment Broker, Doctor's spouse, and some I can't think of! Each one has a story to tell, and some have a lot of stories to tell, ha, and we will be livening up this blog as we go.
